Patrick Bateman is more than a fiction-character in a Bret Easton
Ellis book, it's also the name of a Danish deck wizard. A dj who
has grown into one of the prime sons during the last decade,
playing from vicious hard minimalism to luscious deep tech-house and wicked electro.
A decade ago Kenneth Broxgaard aka Patrick Bateman startedlistening to electronic music, jumpstarted with Inner City and Italian house. In '92 he bought his first decks and started mixing at home and buying lots and lots of records. First house, then harder techno, then trance and finally settling down with Detroit techno, Chicago house and electro in '95.
In '93 he got his first DJ job by luck and from then on he played at numerous parties in Denmark. In 1994 he started arranging
parties with some friends, and in 1995 he met Peter Lundgreen,
a well-known Danish promoter and DJ.
Together they started the club Hypnotic Basement, which had a
huge impact on the Danish rave scene. That club had it all,
underground sound and atmosphere. The club was a big success.
In January '98 Peter Lundgreen started The Rocket Club, a
monthlybased techno/house club, with both local and international
DJ's and live acts and of cause Peter and Patrick as resident DJ's.
This club is now a well-known club in Denmark.
That has brought Patrick Bateman to play alongside such names as:
Hell, Claude Young, Blake Baxter, Michael Meyer, Tobias Thomas,
Steve Bug, Jeff Bennet, Sven Dohse, Joel Mull, Damon Wild,
Terence Fixmer, Oliver Ho, Mike Shannon, A. Paul, Reinhard Voigt, DJ Algorithm, Frank Yentner, Daniel Benavente, RRR
Patrick Bateman started touring abroad in '99 that has up until now brought him to places like Slovakia, Portugal, Germany and Sweden apart from the numerous parties in Denmark.
The style that Patrick plays at the moment is deep cologne tech.
He's a real magician on 3 decks. Cutting up records, doing
back-spins and playing with the EQ.
A superb party DJ.
